Glory of Rome 54mm Vignette

Reviewed By Jack Bruno, #25313

Recently I've been bitten by the Figure building bug and it couldn't have happened at a better time.  Verlinden Productions has been releasing some very interesting historical vignettes of late and one of the most recent additions caught my interest immensely - Glory of Rome.  The subject of this eye catching vignette is a Roman Centurion with a very well detailed plumed helmet, arm raised over his head in a salute to the Gods, while his vanquished enemy lays beneath him.

The crispness of the detail is outstanding on the eight piece figure.  The one piece resin base includes a figure molded into the base and is a superb setting.  Additional parts such as swords and shields are molded separately to be added at your convenience.  The poses are fantastic and believable in addition to the Historical dress and weaponry.

The high quality resin is very well detailed and defined with no imperfections that I noticed while going over the contents.  I was particularly impressed by the groundwork and fallen tree's that are part of the base.  Painting and a wash or two with dry brushing will assure the builder of a contest ready subject!

I intend to acquire several more of these outstanding subjects and I'll be getting back to you with a report on each of them.  The next time you are looking for something different to do, try one of these outstanding sets.  I think you'll be hooked as well!  I've already got my eyes focused on The Viking Raid :)

It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!  I purchased this vignette from the vendor area (CRM Hobbies) at the IPMS/Quad Cities Show on 3-28-04.
