Italeri 1/48 SH-60B "Seahawk"
Kit No. # 2620

My first reaction was that this was not just a re-hash of their previously released Blackhawk.  There were a significant number of new and different sprues for this Navy version.  All were crisply molded with excellent recessed panel lines and details.  The interior really only requires the addition of seat belts and harnesses to set it off.  Decals are used for the consoles and instrument panels, but these do fine in that they are not highly visible, even with doors open on both sides.  Construction was text book Italeri, with only a dab of putty used about the engine intakes.  The fit of all parts was very good to excellent.  One exceptionally nice touch was the main rotor blade can be displayed as extended or stowed, builders choice, as shown. Also, the sonobuoy dispenser is a real work of art. The clear parts and their fit were outstanding.  All paints used per kit marking instructions were Model Master and Testors DullCote.

I must take my hat off to Italeri.  This is the second time I have been selected to do a review of their products and the decal quality each time has been exceptional.  They have some of the best kit decals I have experienced.  I can only give this kit high marks in all departments and hope that they keep up the great work.
