1. F/A-18A+, s/n 163133 VMFA-115. This aircraft is FS36375 over FS36320 and sports a very cool eagle carrying a US flag on the vertical stabs along with red, white and blue stripes along the spine of the aircraft. The intake warning markings are also red, white and blue. The speed brake is also marked with an American flag. The stars and bars are also full color. Overall this is a very colorful Hornet. 2. F/A-18C, s/n 164910, VMFA-251. This aircraft is also in the FS36375 over FS36320 scheme. It has a lo vis lightning bolt on the vertical stabs. The rest of the markings are standard Hornet fare. 3. F/A-18D, s/n 165686, VMFA-225. This one also has the same overall scheme as the two mentioned above. It has a special marking on the left vertical stab and the customary VMFA-225 lo vis Viking head on the starboard vertical stab. All of the other markings are pretty much standard for the Hornet. A quick note from the instructions regarding VMFA-251 jet featured on this sheet. VMFA-251 deployed to OIF from MCAS Beaufort, SC. The aircraft all carried the 2xx modex number carried over from their deployment on the USS Theodore Roosevelt during Operation Enduring Freedom in 2002. The decal sheet is wonderfully printed and as usual with Twobobs 1/72 offerings, you get enough stencils and national markings for all three subjects. The instructions include several photos of the actual aircraft depicted along with a short list of 1/72 kits and accessories that are on the market.
