In October 2003 the 118th ‘Flying Yankees’ Fighter Squadron from the Connecticut ANG wanted to paint one of their A-10's in a special scheme to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the unit.  The design was adapted from the unit’s P-51 Mustangs that were deployed to China.

Twobobs has captured this striking scheme with great results.  The decals are printed by Microscale and are up to the outstanding quality that we all expect from them.  The colors are bright and vivid and right on register.  The Microscale decal solvent system is recommended for these decals.  The accompanying full color painting and marking guide is invaluable to achieve the best results.  The colors are called out in Testors Model Masters, Humbrol, Gunze Sangyo and Xtracolor numbers.

One feature that Twobobs has been including on their sheets that is fantastic is that many of the multiple color markings are printed in each color separately.  This results in extra crisp detail and very opaque colors.  On this one, the ‘80 Years’ markings for the engine nacelles have the yellow outline and the black center colors printed separately.

This sheet is highly recommended for anyone wanting to include a very differently painted and marked A-10A to their collection.  This sheet is available from Twobobs on the internet at http://www.twobobs.net.  As always, shipping to US addresses is free!  Also check out their weekly photo file on current and future subjects under ‘Hot Babe of the Week’.  Great additional references for completing your projects.  Thank you to Twobobs for the sample.
