If you are a fan of colorful US Navy schemes or F-18 Hornets then this decal sheet is for you.  This sheet is perfect for that Hasegawa or Revell-Monogram 1/48 F-18C that’s been sitting in your stash.

The decal sheet includes enough to do one of two complete aircraft.  The first choice is the CAG bird for Strike Fighter Squadron EIGHT THREE (VFA-83) “Rampagers” during its service aboard the USS John F Kennedy from June through December 2004, when they participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom.  The VFA-83 markings feature a large yellow Ram’s head over an Insignia Blue vertical tail plus some really neat nose art.  Also included is some insignia for the external fuel tanks.  The second choice is for the CAG bird for Strike Fighter Squadron ONE ONE THREE (VFA-113) “Stingers” during its service aboard the USS John C Stennis.  Currently they are assigned to the USS Ronald Reagan as part of Carrier Air Wing Fourteen (CVW-14).  These markings feature a large beehive and hornet, also over an Insignia Blue vertical tail, and some insignia for the external tanks.  Also included in this set is a set of wing walk decals and some of the more common stenciling for the F-18.

The decals are crisply printed and accurate in color and registration, consistent with Two Bobs quality.  Also included is a few really nice walk around photos of both aircraft along with a colorful decal placement and paint scheme guide.  Paint color listings are provided for Testors Model Master, Gunze Sanyo, Xtracolor and Xtracrylics.

The VFA-83 and VFA-113 markings are very colorful and a nice change from the subdued gray schemes.  I highly recommend this sheet if you are a Hornet fan or appreciate colorful Navy paint schemes.  Now comes the hard part…choosing which scheme to do first.  I guess I will have to do both.  I hope this sheet will be released in 1/32 as well.
