MSRP: $18.99 USD (PYND72004); $21.99 USD (PYND48016) Here’s two more awesome pin-up (PYN-up) nose art schemes to “pick from” <g> for your B-26 model! The first is the C.O. of 344BG/498BS, Major D. Bentley’s famous B-26B named, “Hard to Get” with a gorgeous gal coyly posed in a different position on clouds on each side of the nose. Crew name decals are provided in yellow and red, so you can make your own interpretation of the color photo references. Nose stenciling is included. This aircraft is finished in OD over natural metal finish, with a light OD overspray of the upper wing D Day invasion stripes. I have “Hard to Get” on the old, now hard to get Microscale sheet 72281 and Polly S/ESCI decal, which gives you an amazing “state of the art” comparison. Microscale’s pin-ups are simply cartoon-ish, while the Polly S renditions are in the same pose both sides, in one flesh tone rather than PYN-up’s soft airbrush shades. The second is B-26C “Belle Ringer” from the 320BG/441BS with a simple OD over Neutral Gray scheme, yellow bomb mission marks (which continue on nose wheel door), codes and serial. This leggy pin-up lady’s dress is uplifting as she bends over. The yellow-with-black borders rear fuselage stripe decal is included, as is the 441BS insignia. The name, “Belle Ringer” is provided in white with yellow outline as well as yellow with black outline. As with Part 1, the sample decals are opaque, very thin, and in perfect register with minimal carrier film. The pin-up girl decal themselves are printed on solid decal sheet and have to be trimmed before applying over white background decal. PYN-up gives you two of each girl just in case... The full color instruction sheet includes a color photo of each aircraft, color drawings, bibliography; FS color references, and brief histories. If you want the 1/72 sheet you’d better order yours now as they’re doing a limited run of 300 sheets – highly recommended!
