The Northrop P-61 Black Widow was one of the most lethal (and the largest) aircraft to carry the ‘P’ descriptor. These aircraft also carried some of the most elaborate and colorful nose art works into combat. Meteor Productions and Pick Your Nose Art have captured these lovely ladies in all their splendor.

The zip-lock pouch comes with enough nose art and squadron markings for 2 P-61 aircraft; a P-61A from the 421 NFS ‘Skippy/Nocturnal Nemesis’ and a P-61B from the 548 NFS ‘Cooper’s Snooper’. The decals are beautifully printed, and perfectly on register. The main sheet includes the aircraft serial numbers, national insigne, and white ‘background’ decals for the nose art. The small sheet has two images of each lady. The included instruction sheet aids the modeler with colors for both aircraft, and is cross referenced with the popular paint brands. It is very important to follow the application instructions very carefully. The decals are printed on very thin stock. It is recommended that only Micro Scale products be used in the application process. Micro Set and Micro Sol are the solvents of choice. Stronger solvents like Solvaset are not recommended.

Finally we have some high quality decals that accurately recreate the nose art of World War II aircraft. The only drawback is the high price. At $20 a set, they may be out of the reach of some modelers on a tight budget. But the quality and the limited edition status justifies the price.

Thank you to John Noack and Meteor for the sample.
