Take a look at these offered by our friends up north. To say that the schemes for these birds are striking is an understatement. Images show 2 NMF Mustang IV’s that truly don’t do them justice (I had the opportunity to see these, the outstanding work of Randy Lutz, at the IPMS/USA Nationals). The decals themselves are beautifully registered, very thin, and apply well using the Microscale techniques. The P-40E sheets offer a colorful alternative to the O.D. over gray U.S. version and are perfect for the new Hasegawa release. The Mustangs…a bonus included here…Commonwealth Mustang IV’s had a unique set of louvers installed in place of the multi holed plate covering the oil cooler panels. These are cast in resin, and enough sets included with the decals to do all the offerings. And there are a set of templates included in the instructions to alter the uncuffed Mustang prop to the proper shape. The Mustangs are from the RCAF 442nd Squadron and the P-40Es represent the 111th Squadron. These can be easily ordered through IPMS/Canada’s web site at www.ipmscanada.com. You’ll notice that the prices shown are Canadian funds, so probably best to mark your checks as such and let the bank sort out the exchange rate for that particular day. Also, please note that prices are significantly reduced to IPMS/Canada members. You can also join that fraternity on the web and receive their excellent publication “Random Thoughts”.
