1/32 Me-262 Stencil Set |

MSRP: $10.98 USD I know many modelers are getting excited about the pending release of the Trumpeter 1/32 scale Me-262 and here’s an option for that release that you should seriously consider. HobbyDecal is a newer company producing dry transfers as an alternative to the normal water slides decals found with kits. Set number ST32007V1 is a set of stencils for the most all versions of a 1/32 ME-262. The set is stencils only and consists of two sheets containing stencils for fuel location, cockpit steps, and all the stencils that were contained on Me-262 variants. There are nice drawings detailing the location of each of the stencils as well as two different types. One is printed primarily in black and the other primarily in red. The sheets themselves are printed in all the required colors. The print quality is magnificent - crisp and clear in all colors and perfect registration. Some of the transfers are multipart like many of the newer waterslide decals. For those of you that have never used them, dry transfers are positioned in place and then rubbed on the surface from behind, and they stick to your model. Some of the big advantages of this method are that you cannot silver them, no setting solutions are needed and they can be applied directly without multiple clear coats. The downside is that this is a one shot deal - once they are transferred, they cannot be moved, they take practice to use especially on an odd shaped surface and they are more expensive than normal decals. For me, the fact that you can lay down perfect wing walks without fighting a long, thin decal folding over or breaking makes these a great alternative.
