To compliment the Hasegawa G-10 and the Type 110
Conversions from Eagle Editions and Cutting Edge Eagle Editions has
released this sheet of colorful Bf-109s.
Printed by Microscale, the decals are perfectly in
register, typically well researched, thin, and should respond well with
setting solutions. They are depicted on two decal sheets, one sheet
that contains the individual markings and the other with all the stencil
and national markings to do one airplane.
Eagle Editions provides instructions on how to convert
the G-10 to the G-14/AS. This easy conversion is simplified with the
new Parts-R Parts forward cowling.
The first aircraft is from the bomber unit KG(J)6
converting to fighters. It has very colorful markings, which include
the black/red checkerboard, yellow tail and lower nose on a RLM75/83.
The single chevron and spiral spinner add some additional color on the
side.
The next aircraft will interest a lot of modelers and
fuel many conversations. It is a G-14/AS, "Yellow 1" with red legs and
RVD band. The red legs are always a point of contention. What is
unique on this machine is the name on the forward cowling. This
aircraft also incorporates the smaller wing bulges. This aircraft
sports a drop tank. The German markings on the fuselage are the
black-filled, early war type.
The next G-14/AS is "Green 3" from JG300. The same as
"Yellow 1", this aircraft has the smaller bulges on the wings and a gun
camera in the leading edge of the wing. What is not known is if this
aircraft had red legs or not. It would seem a logical conclusion as
"Yellow 1" was from the same Gruppe. This aircraft also has a name on
the nose.
"Rosemarie" is a G-10 with an unusual patchy paint
scheme that includes a light grey, perhaps RLM 77, on the fuselage
spine. It has a small tactical number, yellow band around the nose and
a yellow tail. The wing bulges are the larger type but the tail wheel
is the short type.
I highly recommend this sheet.
I would like to thank Eagle Editions for the review
