This latest sheet from EagleCals is meant for use on the new Trumpeter 1/32 P-40 kit.  The sheet contains markings for two aircraft.

The first  scheme is a Number 112 Squadron machine which was the first unit to operate the Tomahawk in June 1941.  The Shark mouth it sports is said to be the idea of D. F. Jerry Westenra, a New Zealand Flight commander who flew during the Normandy operation.  Photos published of his mount in the London News prompted the AVG to adopt the same Shark mouth.  The aircraft is Dark Earth and Middlestone on the upper surfaces, with Azure Blue underneath.  The spinner is red overall.

The second aircraft is AK490 from number 73 squadron in El Gamil in 1941.  The 12 victory ace and CO of 73 Squadron, Peter Wykeham-Barnes, flew this particular aircraft on a regular basis.  The camouflage is Dark Green and Dark Earth upper surfaces ove a Light Grey underside.  The spinner is Sky overall.

Overall this is quite an interesting sheet.  The sheet contains enough markings to do both aircraft as there are very little stencils.  The roundels are in two pieces so lining up your roundels is up to you.  The color density is VERY good and I cannot see any problems with bleed through on the white or yellow.

I can highly recommend this sheet for anyone who wants a non AVG marked P-40.  The shark mouth one is really cool looking in the RAF Dark Earth / Middlestone scheme.  My thanks to EagleCals for the review sample.
