B-17E/F/G National Insignia Part 3

Some of the most colorful B-17s were the B-17Fs of the August-October 1943 with the red surround national insignia.  These were followed by over-painted red surrounds with a new blue paint which created a unique look with the worn blue centers and dark blue surround.  Until now this option has not been available as far as I know.

This Cutting Edge sheet contains both the red and darker blue surround type insignia.  There are plenty of prop decals.  This sheet has less yellow numbers than previous sheets, but the inclusion of both types of national insignia more than makes up for it.  You can build two B-17s with the markings provided.

Cutting Edge recommends the Monogram B-17G by itself or with the Cutting Edge B17E/F conversion sets or the Revell B-17F.  Whichever kit you choose these markings will greatly enhance the kit.

As with previous Cutting Edge decals, the markings are in perfect register, thin and opaque.  They should respond well with any setting solution.

I highly recommend this sheet for anyone contemplating building a mid to late-war B-17.

I would like to thank Meteor Productions for the review copy and the decals can be obtained directly from Meteor at www.meteorprod.com or at (703)971-0500.  They are also available from most hobby shops.
