With the release of the newly remastered “Memphis Belle” from Aircraft Films modelers will be inspired by the beautiful pictures to do an early airwar B-17.  One thing you will notice while watching the DVD is that there are at least three styles of national insignia portrayed throughout the video.  This decal sheet will be become absolutely necessary if you want to do any of the aircraft shown.

This offering contains a single sheet with markings to depict any B-17 from the early war to the mid-1943 time frame.  This sheet offers the circles with the red centers but they differ from CED48260 in being slightly smaller, 50 inch fuselage and 70 inch wing markings as compared to the 56 inch fuselage and 74 inch wings offered on CED48260.   On this sheet you also get the option of yellow surrounds for the markings.  Both narrow and slightly wider fuselage markings are represented.  One of the nice markings is the grayed out star that is prominent on the DVD.  These are provided as overlays to the white stars.

Just like CED260 you are treated to prop decals and plenty of yellow tail numbers.  There are plenty of numbers from 1 through 0. This sheet is essential to any B-17 of the Memphis Belle era.

I highly recommend this sheet for anyone contemplating building a mid-war B-17.

I would like to thank Meteor Productions for the review copy and the decals can be obtained directly from Meteor at www.meteorprod.com or at (703)971-0500.  They are also available from most hobby shops.
