MSRP: $29.95 USD Hard bound with dust jacket 176 pages 500 color photos, technical drawings, color 3 views, side view color profiles and more If you don’t either subscribe or purchase at the newsstand issues of Air Monthly Magazine, this publication contains re-prints of articles on the current day naval and Marine Corps fixed and rotary wing aircraft as the title implies. It contains a comprehensive description complete with photos, drawings, cutaways and the like for 10 of the finest aircraft…
Each article is complete, concise and well written, making an interesting read for any “tailhook” aficionado. It’s also an excellent opportunity to pick up the complete collection of articles of fleet aircraft in case you missed some of the issues of the magazine. The article on the Super Hornet was what I found most interesting. After reading it, I assure you that this is not your “fathers’ Oldsmobile”. As the new Squadron patch states “Same old whuppass, new can”. From the modelers’ standpoint, there are contained here many previously unpublished photos of details (very timely for yours truly, for as most of you know, I’m currently involved with an online build article of the F/A-18D.) One can obtain their copy of this book by either calling Specialty Press at 800-895-4585 or visiting their website, www.specialtypress.com... Priced at $ 29.95 plus $ 4.95 for shipping and handling. Many thanks to Karin Hill at Specialty Press for the review sample and a most enjoyable read. |
