Nieuport 29

32 pages, over 80 color and black and white photos and illustrations, plus factory sketches and detailed 1/72 and 1/48 scale plans.

This is another outstanding edition in the definitive Windsock Datafile series. All aspects of the type’s history are reviewed along with coverage of the aircraft’s use by various air services. There is no table of contents or index, but in a publication such as this, they really aren’t needed.  An excellent bibliography appears at the end and includes a listing a manuals and handbooks. Color artwork appears on the front and rear covers showing markings for Nieuports in French, Italian and Japanese service.

The first section deals with a history of the type and clear photos and illustrations amply support the well-written text. A very important asset is the inclusion of scale drawings of fuselage cross sections—indispensable for those of you planning on “scratch building” the aircraft.

The next section contains numerous color plates and marking illustrations and detailed Nieuport 29 specifications. For further information, check the Windsock web site at www.windsockdatafilespecials.com.

In conclusion, I heartily recommend this publication to all interested modelers.
