Windsock Datafile 96

Caudron G.4

by Jon Guttmann

Reviewed By Tony Darienzo,  37251

36 pages of text, drawings and black and white and color photos.

This is another in the comprehensive Windsock Datafile monograph series. The book covers the history and use of this famous airplane. The black and white historical photos are accompanied by excellent color shots of the Caudron in the Smithsonian’s Garber facility. Color artwork appears on the front and rear covers.

The text is well-written covering Caudron use in French and Foreign Service. 1/48 scale plans are included with scrap views and cross sections—an indispensable feature to detailers and scratch builders.  The book has no index but does contain a number of appendices listing Caudron G4 survivors and specifications. A bibliography is also provided for those needing additional material. For further information check out the Windsock web site at: www.windsockdatafilespecials.com.

I thoroughly recommend this fine monograph.
