This is Volume two of a new series created by Osprey Publishing.  Previous offerings by this company include Modelling Masterclass, Aircraft of the Aces, Combat Aircraft and the well known Men at Arms.  If you were impressed with the latter, this will impress you even more.  The book is full of pictures and descriptions of building process.

The book deals with the Bf-110 only and is divided into 8 sections starting with a small description of the different variants of the model.  The book contains 82 pages all pack with information.  The book deals only with the 1/48 scale models and gives you the description of each kit with comments about kit contents and availability.  The next chapter describes how to build the Fujimi kit, describing how to construct the kit straight from the box and them doing the same kit with modifications.  Each change/ modification is covered in depth with pictures showing them in detail.  The third chapter deals with the Revell kit and the first part of the chapter describes what you find in the box.  Once again, the second part of the chapter describes improvements to the same kit.

The fifth chapter talks how to bring the kit to life by accessorizing the model and adding figures and a base.  Here again the author shows you step by step what is to be done.  Again, pictures accompany each step.  The last chapter gives a series of pictures showing the finished product.  At the end of the book there is more information for further reading, media and web-sites where more information can be found.  There is also a listing of the applicable Bf-110 aftermarket decals, giving you brand name, description and their availability at this time.  At the end of the book you will find 8 color references cards used in this particular aircraft.

This book is a complete guide for building, detailing customizing and converting this kit.  It is full of information that will be beneficial to both the novice and the expert alike.  The book is richly illustrated with step by step photos showing the process.  I enjoyed this book very much and will recommend it to both the novice and the expert alike.  I would like to thank Mr. John Warren of Osprey Publications for the opportunity of reviewing this book and hope that there are many more like it in the works.
