Fairchild-Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II

(CD Presentation for Your PC)

Reviewed By Jim Bates, #36213

One of the newer ideas that has hit the modeling landscape is the CD reference walk-around.  Flightline Media, LLC of Cleveland, Ohio has just released their first entry into the market with a CD on the A-10 Warthog.  The CD provides over 250 detail photos, scale drawings, and some general information on specifications and development of the A-10.  The 250 photos are divided into sections covering the cockpit, landing gear, weapons, engines, wings, fuselage, nose, tail, full shots of the plane, and some action shots.  The photographs are of good quality, and very clearly presented.  Much like a web site, the photos are provided as thumbnails, which upon selection will enlarge to full screen size.  The photos and drawings can be printed on your printer, but; of course, the quality will depend on the quality of your printer.  My only complaint with the CD is that no information is provided on A-10 markings and only the latest gray A-10 scheme is featured.  Outside of this small complaint, it is a well-done project that I recommend to anyone looking for more detail on the A-10.

Future CDs will cover the TBM Avenger, F6F Hellcat, and F-117.
