Classic Publications books on the Luftwaffe have provided some of the best researched and beautifully presented subjects and this book is no different.  A continuation of the first volume, this book picks up with the deployment of the initial operational unit.  Like the first volume, this hardcover book contains numerous photos, many previously unpublished, and the text written in a diary format.  This reference book provides a chronological history of the units and the development of the Me-163 into a front line fighter.

Accompanied by 24 beautiful drawings from Tom Tullis and excellent line drawings from Arthur Bentley and Eddie Creek, this book is an easy read and very comprehensive.  There are photos (both color and b/w) of the gliders used to train the pilots, included are the Habicht, Stummelhabicht, Kranich, and Grunau Baby.  Also addressed are the Me-163S, the Me-263, Ju-248, and the Me-163C and D.  The authors also cover the Japanese version of the Me-163.  Finally, the war trophies are shown in photos and charts.  This rounds out and completes, with volume one, THE best reference for the Komet available.  Even without the first volume this book is an excellent reference.

There are some unexpected surprises, for those who like something different, a French civilian painted Me-163 that flew and a color photo of a Komet with the SG500 Jaegerfaust modification.

I highly recommend this book, especially for the Luftwaffe buff.  Between them, these books are the best references available on the Komet and a must have.
