The Polish publishers at ACE Publications
have produced a wonderful book on the Me-163. This softback magazine style
book contains 36 pages of photographs and drawings that depict every
example of the Komet, including the Japanese J8M1. Although the text is in
Polish the captions are in English. While there are drawings for the
interior of the Me-163 what really set this offering apart from others is
the beautiful line drawings of every version from prototype to the Me-263,
again that includes the Japanese Shusui. The photographs are both color
and black and white. There are no “Oh my God!, Where did they find that”
photos, but the quality of the photos is exceptional. The detail photos
are fantastic. There are photos of the airframe that I’ve never seen. If
you want to really superdetail a model of the Komet this book is
essential. It has everything, including the area where the T-Stuff storage
tanks are. I cannot remember any books addressing the Shusui, but this
book includes four photos of the cockpit, as well as, photos of the Chino
aircraft. There is a section on models and accessories included, however,
it is written in Polish. It would be nice if the publishers produced the
text in English, but the photos speak volumes. I highly recommend this
book and look forward to others in this series.
