Brief description of work done:

Well, the only few parts remaining of the original kit are the undercarriage and the bonnet section. A new chassis has been built and the cab is completely converted to obtain the U.S. Ford cab. The 5ton trailer is totally scratch-built. Last but not least, the F4U-1 central fuselage section is a part of the old Revell 1/32 Corsair downsized to 1/35. This section of the Corsair is cut in more than 18 parts to reduce it to the required scale. The cockpit and all exterior details are scratch-built.

The US Navy used several versions of the Ford V8 during WW2: cargo, dump 6x6, fire truck, semi-trailer...

The Ford V8 commercial truck has a strange history: during the 40's, it was built at the same time by the USA, UK, Australia for allied nations but also in Germany and France for the axis powers.
