Yarmouth Fire Chief Justin Myers loves talking about his granffather and his WW2 Experience on board an aircraft carrier. USS Princeton. Justin Myers knew that his friend and fellow firefighter Doug Kolkman likes to build models and asked Doug that if he ever sees the model kit to get it for him. It was found at Majors Art abd Hobby Center in Davenport, Iowa. Doug had an idea for a club project. Club member Tom Elshoff volunteered to build this kit as a winter project. It took Tom 108.25 hours to complete the build. It came with 23 fighter planes, 10 torpedo bombers, with flight deck tractors, crew members and various anti-aircarft guns. Disabled veterans – IPMS/USA will provide a free year’s membership to any disabled veteran of a US military branch in appreciation for their sacrifices in support of our country.
Active or veteran/retired military members – as a way of recognizing your service and encouraging your entry into or continued enjoyment of our hobby, IPMS/USA will offer a free first-year membership to any current or retired member of each Service Branch of the US Military.
