1/72 In the skies of China (Ki-21-Ia, two Кі-27а)
On July 7, 1937, the incident on the Lugouqiao Bridge near Beijing started the Second Sino-Japanese War. From the first days of the invasion, the Japanese navy’s aircraft held the brunt of the attack, and this forced the army air force to increase its supply of aircraft. In the spring of 1938, the Ki-27a fighter appeared in the skies of China. Its combat qualities, combined with the high training of its personnel, allowed the Japanese air force to gain an advantage over the Chinese Air Force. In air battles, the fighter successfully fought Soviet-made I-15 and I-16 aircraft.
Also in 1938, Ki-21-Ia bombers appeared in the Chinese skies, and the 60th Sentai was the
first to receive them. The planes were immediately involved in active combat operations, and their crews managed to develop an effective tactic of use: they maintained a close combat formation in the target area, combining this with mutual fire support.
The Ki-21-Ia bombers also proved to be highly survivable, being able to withstand damage from a large number of conventional caliber bullets. For a certain period of time, these aircraft were the only long-range bombers in the Japanese Army Air Force.

1/72 U-Boat Type ‘Molch’
WWII German Midget Submarine

The Molch was a single-seat ultra-small submarine designed for operations in the coastal zone and belonged to the so-called special assault forces. During development, it was designated as “Thomas II”, and production of serial models, known as “Molch”, began in July 1944. The mini-submarine was equipped with a single electric motor for surface and underwater operation, which limited its combat capability. The depth of immersion was up to 60 meters, and the maximum speed in the underwater position was 5 knots. The hull consisted of three sections, with a chair for a single crew member in the center section. The Molch was built at the Deschhimag shipyard in Bremen, and 393 units were produced in total. As part of the special sabotage formation “K”, these submarines were used in the Mediterranean and North Seas, making 140 trips to sea by the end of World War II.

1/35 AH-1G Cobra (early production)
US Attack Helicopter

The widespread use of multi-purpose helicopters in Vietnam to provide fire support of ground units was the reason for the development of a specialized attack helicopter. Bell began its development in the spring of 1965, and in September, the first prototype became operational. The production AH-1G Cobra began rolling off the assembly line in June 1967, and in the fall of the same year, they began combat operations in Vietnam. The built-in armament of the first production AH-1G Cobras consisted of a six-barrel Minigun mounted in the nose under-fuselage turret. A 40-mm automatic grenade launcher
was later added. The pylons were additionally equipped with blocks with unguided missiles and machine gun containers, and the possibility of suspending a powerful 20-mm six-barrel automatic cannon was added. The gunner in the front seat controlled the fire of the built-in weapons in the nose turret, and the pilot used weapons located on the wing pylons.
Lightweight steel armor with a total weight of 122 kg was used to protect the crew and the most important parts of the structure and units from ground fire.

1/35 Typ 320 (W142) Soft Top
WWII German staff car

The Mercedes-Benz 320, also known as the W142, was developed at the design bureau of Daimler-Benz AG and began production in 1937. It had a six-cylinder engine with a volume of 3.2 liters (3.4 liters in later versions) and 78 horsepower. The model was available with a short (2880 mm) or long (3300 mm) wheelbase and various body styles. The Cabriolet body variant was available in a long wheelbase version. The four-seater version had two doors and four side windows; the roof was soft and could be folded down to protect it from the weather. This vehicle was often seen in the Wehrmacht, with some retaining civilian license plates. It was used as a staff car and was also used to transport senior commanders.

1/35 “Quietly came, quietly went…”
Special Operations Forces of Ukraine

The modern Special Operations Forces (SOF) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were created in 2016 on the basis of existing units and subunits, most of which already had some combat experience. As of the summer of 2023, the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces are based on two special purpose regiments – a special purpose maritime center, a special operations center and several other units. Their main tasks include in-depth reconnaissance, combat raids behind enemy lines, search and evacuation of captives or hostages, and anti-terrorist activities. The selection process for Special Forces units is very rigorous, with only 10% of all candidates passing the selection process. Special attention is paid to the equipment of the Special Forces units. The weapons, equipment and facilities include the most modern models, both foreign and Ukrainian, such as the special Vulcan assault rifle, which has been supplied to Special Forces units since 2017. Also in 2020, the Special Operations Forces were the first in the Armed Forces of Ukraine to adopt the structure of NATO army headquarters. During 2022-2023, Ukrainian Special Forces units successfully performed the most difficult combat missions in all areas of combat operations.

Kittyhawk Mk.IV ‘Over the Mediterranean and the Pacific’ 1/72

The US-built P-40 Warhawk fighter aeroplane is one of the WW2 iconic types and flew also with the air forces of Commonwealth countries where it bore the name Kittyhawk. The final mass produced version was the P-40N, introduced to service in 1944, and with the allies known as the Kittyhawk Mk.IV.
The truly superb model kit of this important fighter contains a decal sheet with markings for a No.87 Sqn RAAF machine named Black Magic flown by the only aboriginal Australian pilot, F/Sgt Leonard Victor Waters. The other machine offered in the kit was used by No.450 Sqn RAAF operating in Italy and this kite wore a semi-naked girl emblem on its cowl.

– Superb model
– Interesting painting schemes
– Wide range of resin accessory sets
– Pre-cut masks M72016 also available

Seafire Mk.15 ‘FAA & RCN Service’ 1/48

The Seafire Mk.15 of the immediate post war period was the first ever Seafire powered by the Griffon to see the regular service. Besides the FAA, Mk.15 Seafires also flew with the Royal Canadian Navy. Our model contains also etches and offers two schemes, one as with the British Fleet Air Arm while the other option portrays a machine from Canada. The British machine had one of its outer wing panels replaced and still carrying the earlier scheme colours which makes it now rather interesting-looking indeed. The Canadian airframe had a unique scheme typical for the later machines flown with the RCN.

– The only available 1/48 Seafire XV model kit
– Interesting schemes
– Contains photo etched parts
– Pre-cut masks M48019 also available

Short Sunderland Mk.III

This is a model of one of the most famous flying boats in the history of aviation. The Mk.III variety was built and saw service during the war times, being introduced to operational use in the turn of 1941-42. Compared with the earlier versions, it featured an improved hull step and was equipped with power-operated gun turrets. Because of its long range capabilities and heavy armament, the type proved a very dangerous opponent to Kriegsmarine’s u-boats which was also able to defend itself against long range fighters of the Luftwaffe. These abilities are very well illustrated by the chosen airframes in the kit, two of which can boast with a sunk submarine and the crew of the other managed to defend themselves against eight attacking Ju 88s, shooting down three of them in the end

Maryland Mk.I/II “Warburton´s War” 1/48
The Martin 167 medium bomber was manufactured in the USA, however it has never been used by the US military. On the other hand, overseas, the French and British showed their interest in the type and placed the orders. In Britain, the type received the name Maryland and while the French aiframes arrived in time to get involved in defending France in 1940, the British ones were operated in Africa and over the Mediterranean, with RAF and SAAF units. And a few of them also flew in the reconnaissance role, made most famous by the excellent recce pilot Adrian Warburton. One of whose machines, an originally French one and based in Malta, is also amongst our colour schemes in this kit. The other two schemes portray machines as used by the RAF and SAAF.
In total four styrene sprues with one of clear parts are joined by etches and resin details. The model has returned to our range in a limited quantity only.

Tachikawa Ki-54Hei ‘ Hickory’ 1/72

The Ki-54 Hickory was a WW2 Japanese twin engine aeroplane which was manufactured in four main versions used for pilots training, wireless operators and navigators training, aerial gunnery training and finaly the version used for both transport and anti-submarine patrols. The kit comes on four styrene sprues and one with clear parts.
The first incarnation of our kit is the transport variety and brings three Japanese airframes, one of which in two guises. Among the schemes you will also find the Ki-54 Hei / Hickory no.5541 which had to make an emergency landing on the Towada lake on 27 September 1943. The plane was found and fished out of the lake on 5 September 2012 and was put on display at the Misawa museum. An airframe which can boast with its interesting past is the 10.Dokiuritsu Hikodan Shireibu machine which was used to fly the Lieutenant General Masao Baba capitulation delegation to Borneo. For this particular option, the decal sheet has the green capitulation crosses as well.

the Ki-54 has never been kitted in styrene format before

Developed by the Earth Defense Force (TDF) for the Ultra Garrison, Ultra Hawk 1 is a multi-purpose aircraft used for combat, bombing, patrol and reconnaissance. This machine, which is stored in the underground dock of the Far East base and waits, can be launched within one minute from the sortie request. The biggest feature of Ultra Hawk No. 1 is that it was developed with a very unique concept of separating and combining with three aircraft, α, β, and γ. It has a crew of 5-6 people, and when separated, 1 member each can ride on β and γ, and attack with 3 aircraft. In addition, it is possible to replace the armament according to the operation, and in addition to the missiles and laser cannons normally equipped, it is also possible to store and transport the heavy armament of the rocket launcher or the pointer. “Ultra Hawk No. 1”, which is active in the Ultra Seven play, is reproduced with Hasegawa’s unique aircraft expression and precise sculpture. Of course α, β, and γ are part configurations that can be separated and combined! By using a strong magnet, the position is determined firmly without spoiling the appearance. Armed with a rocket launcher. A display stand is also included.

1/32 Macchi MC.202 Folgore

100% NEW MOULDS

Super-detailed cockpit with 3D decals – Finely detailed engine and nose gun bay – Detailed landing gear with optionals wells covers – PE parts for engine, flaps, cockpit and overall detailing – Realistic panel lines and rivets – Moveable wings and tail ailerons – Open or closed flaps – Two types of tail ailerons – Super decals sheet for 8 versions – Realistic smoke rings decals with application guide – Colored painting and decals guide

FIGURE NOT INCLUDED

The introduction of the Macchi MC 202 Folgore was a significant development for the fighter squadrons of the Italian Regia Aeronautica. Stylishly designed from an aerodynamical perspective, it was fitted with the powerful German DB 601 engine produced under license by the Italian aeronautical industry. The engine and overall aeronautical performance of the aircraft provided the Regia Aeronautica with a fighter capable of actively engaging Allied fighters. The flight performance compared to the previous generation of fighters equipped with radial engines, such as the Fiat G-50 and the Macchi Mc-200, was in fact much better. Manoeuvrable and fast (it was able to reach 600 km h), it was armed, in the early versions, with two 12.7 mm Breda-SAFAT machine guns installed in the nose. Only in later versions were the armaments improved with additional machine-guns installed in the wings.

1/24 FIAT 131 Abarth Rally OLIO FIAT

NEW DECALS SHEET – RUBBER TYRES – COLOR INSTRUCTION SHEET – BLACK ACETATE SPLASH GUARDS

FIGURE NOT INCLUDED

The Fiat 131 Abarth evolved from the initial two-door sedan model. The Abarth development involved many interventions such as the adoption of a lighter chassis, larger wheel mudguards, air intakes on the bonnet and on the sides to optimize the mechanical cooling system. The Fiat 131 Abarth used an in-line front longitudinal 4-cylinder engine with a light alloy head and 4 valves per cylinder. Initial manufacturing began in 1976 leading to participation in the World Rally Championship where it won three constructors’ championships, a FIA Drivers’ Cup and a drivers’ championship. It took part in international competitions until 1982 when it was replaced by Lancia brand cars. Some of its body liveries, associated with the sponsors of the period, have become iconic in the history of “off road” motor racing competitions.

T-2 Buckeye ‘Anniversary Markings’ 1/32
The T-2 Buckeye jet trainer is no doubt among the very legends of the US naval aviation. Both the US Navy and Marines operated this type for a very long time whilst in Greece, the Buckeye saw service even longer. Besides the standard white and red colour scheme, quite a few US airframes bore much more striking colours. And mostly in 1976 when the USA commemorated the bicentennial anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and many of the Buckeyes got various display schemes. The Greek machines, on the other hand, flew camouflaged and only at the very end of their service one of them was painted in a scheme commemorating the faithful, 40-years long service.
The kit set comes on no less than eight grey styrene sprues joined by a sprue with clear parts, resin items and etched details. The decal sheet caters for markings for one white-blue-red US Navy airframe and one from Greece with colourfuly painted empennage.

Grunau Baby IIB ‘German WWII Glider’ 1/48

Both in the pre-war years and during the war, the Grunau Baby IIB was the most widely used glider all around the world. It is estimated that about six thousand of these simple aircraft might have been built. While before the war, the Grunau Baby gliders were built mainly by amateur pilots using available drawings, with the war on the horizon the type entered almost mass production in Germany to serve as a basic training type with the NSFK – Nationalsozialistisches Fliegerkorps, a paramilitary organization within the Nazi party. And the same system of flying training was used by Germany allies such as Slovakia or Croatia.
Our model of this important type comes on one styrene sprue joined by a clear one with the windshield. The decal sheet caters for two NSFK gliders, one of which flew in a camouflage scheme in Eastern Prussia in 1944 whilst the other one was flown from an airfield near the city of Dresden and featured a painted emblem of a sponsoring organisation. These two schemes are joined by two more, one from Slovakia with civil registration and one as owned by the Croatia air force.

– accurate and nicely detailed model
– interesting colour schemes
– a type very important for the history of aviation

Scheuch-Schlepper 1/72
The rocket-propelled Me 163 tailless aircraft was not fitted with a usual undercarriage and so it lacked the ability to taxi to its take off position or after landing by its own power. And thus the Komet needed some other means to get around the airfield and it was found in the form of the Scheuch-Schlepper tractor. This rather diminutive vehicle was originally devised as a low-cost and widely available agricultural tractor by Rudolf and Eugen Scheuch brothers. The Scheuch company was established in the town of Erfurt and the tractor was developed with the help from Auto-Union, a branch of the DKW-Einbau-Motoren firm. The Scheuch-Schlepper was usually used in two configurations, either with a rear auxilliary wheel to tow the Komets or with a specialised device enabling it to recover the Komet after it has landed.
Our kit of this quite unique vehicle contains usual styrene injected parts, resin cast ones and also a fret of etches.
– highly interesting type
– nicely detailed model kit

PT-20/STM-2 1/72 Ultra Limited Kit

Ryan PT-20, with the factory designation STM, followed the previous sport and trainer variants of the Rayn ST (Sport Trainer) planes. The “M” in the designation means Military, Ryan supplied these aircraft to the US Air Force (they later preferred the PT-22 version with radial engine), to China, Dutch East Indies and several Latin American air forces. The American planes were used for training on US soil, those in the Dutch East Indies had a more colourful fate. Part of them was equipped with floats, the others had a wheeled undercarriage. They were used for training both army and navy pilots. After a Japanese attack, part of the Dutch planes was destroyed, some were captured and used by the Japanese Air Force. The rest were evacuated to Australia where they joined the RAAF training units and served there till the end of the war.

We first made the PT-20 kit in 1995 and in 2004 we reboxed it as the PT-22 version. Both kits were sold out in 2006. But while we were cleaning up our warehouse recently (AKA the Tin House) we found a whole box of these sprues. So we decided to re-introduce the kit to modellers. The sprues are not really up to Special Hobby’s current standards so we created a new product line with the fitting name “Vintage treasure”.

The decals are new and offer one USAAF plane and an ex-Dutch one in RAAF colours. The windshields are vacuformed. We recommend this kit for experienced modellers only. As we have a very limited number of sprues you can only buy the kit via our website or at modelling shows where we participate.

1/24 Opel Blitz Classic

RUBBER TYRES – DECALS FOR 2 VERSIONS – COLORS INSTRUCTION SHEET

The Opel Blitz project was set up with the aim of mass producing a robust and reliable commercial vehicle that could be used for different applications and tasks. Opel began production of the early trucks, based on a typically US “layout”, in its Rüsselsheim plant in the early 1930s. This was a success story that evolved over time and continued until the mid-1970s. The Opel Blitz’s sturdy structural characteristics were noted by the Wehrmacht and subsequently deployed by them during the Second World War, in both the 4×2 and 4×4 versions. However, its wartime role was later to be eclipsed by its the great commercial success as a civilian vehicle. During the post-war reconstruction period the Opel Blitz was indispensable to Germany’s recovery, being used by merchants, craftsmen, industrialists and many others to rebuild the country.

1/48 EA-18G Growler

COLOR INSTRUCTION SHEET – SUPER DECALS SHEET FOR 3 VERSIONS

FIGURE NOT INCLUDED

The Boeing EA-18 G Growler was designed to fulfill a specific U.S. Navy requirement. The aim was to commission a specialized carrier-based electronic warfare aircraft to replace the outdated Grumman EA-6B Prowler. The Growler is directly derived from the tandem-seat fighter F/A-18 F Super Hornet and retains all of its main aerodynamic features and characteristics. Its General Electric engines enable the Growler to attain a maximum speed of mach 1.8 and its flight performance is similar to that of the main carrier-based aircraft. The 2-man crew consists of the pilot and a WSO (Weapon System Officer). In place of the F/A-18’s 20 mm cannon the Growler has a dedicated electronic warfare system mounted. Additionally, on its hard points, the Growler can carry high and low band jamming pods, additional fuel tanks and AIM-120 AMRAAM missiles.

RUBBER TYRES – DECALS FOR 4 VERSIONS – COLORS INSTRUCTION SHEET

Beginning in the mid ‘30s Germany sought to improve the mobility and mechanization of its Army. One of the more important requirements of its ambitious development program was the adoption of a standard military chassis which would optimize cross country mobility. Among the different versions that were proposed, the medium off road passenger cars, four wheel drive platform, built by Opelwerk and Auto Union found favour. The Wehrmacht used them in various configurations as troop transports, as tow tractors and in reconnaissance roles. The Kfz. 12, built by Horch (Horch was part of the Auto Union group together with Wanderer, Audi and DKW), proved to be very reliable and robust in any operating environment due to its simple but effective design.

1/72 Jaguar T.2 R.A.F. Trainer

COLOR INSTRUCTION SHEET – SUPER DECALS SHEET FOR 4 VERSIONS

FIGURE NOT INCLUDED

The Jaguar ground attack aircraft emerged in the 1960s from a collaborative project between the French and British aviation industries and was operated by the Royal Air Force until the late mid-2000s, thereby demonstrating extraordinary longevity and operational efficiency. Its two turbojet engines were able to attain and also exceed Mach 1.6. It has been deployed on numerous and quite often highly complex missions in operational theatres, including the Balkans and Iraq. The T2 two-seat trainer version was developed for operational conversion of British RAF pilots. It was also capable in its secondary role of ground attack and close support missions but unlike the single-seat version, it was armed with a single 30mm Aden cannon.

AH-1Q/S Cobra ‘US & Turkish Army Service’ 1/48
The AH-1G was the initial version of the iconic Cobra helicopter and had mainly been designed to provide close support to the ground troops. The US military quite quickly realised that what they also need is a weapon system capable of taking on enemy’s armoured vehicles and tanks. And most urgent this need was felt in Europe where the danger of Soviet tank forces was almost palpatable. To enable the Cobra to operate in this role the new versions the Q and S were designed and the earlier G airframes were also rebuilt to this new standard. These new machines were armed with TOW anti-tank missiles. The rebuilt ones, however, still featured a few similarities with the earlier G Cobras.
Our model can boast about possesing very nice levels of detail throughout and comes on as many as nine grey styrene sprues and one with clear parts. The decal sheet offers markings to enable the modeller to build one of four machines. Two of these are standard olive-overall US AH-1S Cobras and one of them sports the well-known bunny emblem on its dog-house and the other one flew with the Massachusetts National Guard, then there is one dark green US AH-1Q airframe and lastly also a Turkish Cobra in rather striking camouflage scheme consisting of three colours. excelentní detailní model.
– interesting colour schemes
– model of never before kitted version

Seafire F/FR Mk.46
The Mk.46 variety of the Seafire was originaly a navalized Spitfire Mk.22, closely following their predecessor the Seafire Mk.45 and so possessing the fixed (not folding) wing with laminar type aerofoil. From the Mk.22, it inherited the low back rear fuselage and naval equipment, sting-type arrestor hook and catapult spools. Only twenty-four were built in the end as the definite Seafire FR.47 type had entered the production. Even the rather small number, two varieties existed, a fighter type and also the fighter-reconnaissance version fitted with cameras behind the cockpit.
The kit set comes on five styrene sprues joined by one with clear parts. The fuselage halves come in two styles, too, to depict the differences between the fighter and figher-recon airframes. The decal sheet caters for two machines as operated by No.1832 NAS RNVR at RNAS Culham. One of them is a fighter, the other one a fighter-recce FR Mk.46 machine.

1/35 AH-1G Cobra (late production)
US Attack Helicopter

The AH-1G Cobra attack helicopter was developed by company Bell as part of the program to create a specialized attack helicopter. In the fall of 1967, it began to be used in Vietnam, where demonstrated its high combat qualities. To defeat ground targets, AH-1G helicopters used both built-in weapons – a six-barreled machine gun or grenade launcher – and suspended: units of unguided missiles, suspended machine guns, and later – a six-barreled 20 mm gun. Its firepower allowed hitting even armored targets. Over time, the AH-1G received a number of improvements, including measures to counter surface-to-air missiles with thermal guidance. For this, cooling of the engine exhaust gases was used, in addition, a special pipe was installed on the helicopters, which diverted the hot gases upwards, into the plane of rotation of the main rotor. After the end of the war, AH-1G Cobra helicopters continued their service in units stationed in Western Europe.

1/72 Ki-21-Ia RTAF
Thailand’s Heavy Bomber

In the 1930s, the Royal Thai Air Force – RTAF – relied primarily on aircraft manufactured in the United States and Great Britain. The situation changed with the beginning of the Second World War. After the defeat of France in Europe, Thailand decided to seize the moment and regain its territories in French Indochina. There was made an order for the delivery of new American-made aircraft. However, the US decided that strengthening the Thai Air Force could change the situation in the region in an undesirable direction for them, and refused to supply the aircraft. Thailand referred to Japan, which soon delivered several dozen bombers for the RTAF. Among them were nine Ki-21-Ia aircrafts produced by the Nakajima company, in the spring of 1941, they were included in the composition of Kong Bin Koi 6 (6th Aviation Wing). These aircraft did not have time to take part in combat operations against France but were used in Burma against units of the Chinese National Army in the spring of 1942. After the Chinese forces retreated to their territory, the Thai Ki-21-Ia were deployed for a while to perform patrol and reconnaissance missions. Later they served as training and transport aircraft.

1/48 Bristol Beaufort Mk.I
WWII British dominions Air Force

The Bristol Beaufort torpedo-bomber, which was widely used in the RAF Coastal Command, was also a part of the air units of the British Dominion countries. Thus, in August 1941, the 489th squadron was formed from pilots of the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF). They received several Bristol Beaufort Mk.I, which operated until the winter of 1942. In late 1941, 18 Beaufort Mk.I aircraft were received by the South African Air Force (SAAF) to protect the vital shipping lanes around the Cape of Good Hope. In the winter of 1942, two divisions were created in the SAAF – the 36th and 37th Coastal Flight, which included these aircraft. At first, they performed patrol functions and later were involved in combat operations against the French forces of the Vichy regime in the region of Madagascar. The Canadian Air Force (RCAF) also operated the Beaufort BeaufortMk.I – these were the 415th and 149th squadrons. Canadian Beauforts were used until 1943, engaging in patrol flights and solving anti-submarine defense tasks.

1/72 URAL-43203
Military Box Vehicle of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The Ural-4320 military all-wheel drive car was produced in 1977. It was popular and widely distributed due to its high operational qualities, and the production of its modernized versions is still ongoing. The car has many versions, among which there are versions with bodies of the “KUNG” type – closed van bodies for the installation of special equipment and transportation of personnel. Initially, they were made of wood, later – using metal. These van bodies were developed for specific car models, but they were also universal, which made it possible to use them on different chassis. In addition to special army equipment, such van bodies were equipped with heating, ventilation, and lighting systems. A significant quantity of Ural-4320 cars with such closed bodies continues to be used in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

1/35 WWII US Military Patrol
(G7107 with MG M1919A4)

At the end of 1941, the United States of America was already a well-deserved world leader in the production of various automotive equipment. This was facilitated by the most powerful production base in the world. During the Second World War, only 2,382,311 military trucks were manufactured in the USA. American army vehicles embodied advanced design solutions, defining the world level of automotive technology in general. In America, the main consumer of automotive equipment was the ground forces (US Army), which operated several types of trucks. The four-wheel drive truck G7107 was one of the representatives of the G7100 military series. Despite the fact that most of the cars of this series were supplied to the Allies as part of the lend-lease program and some of them were used in the US Army, for example, in infantry, sapper and communication units. Equipped with machine guns, such cars could also be used for patrolling.

1/35 US Helicopter Pilots
(1960s-1970s)

In the middle of 1967, the group of American troops on the territory of Indochina already had 2,000 helicopters at its disposal, and in a year their number increased to 4,200 units. Helicopters were perfect for conducting combat operations in jungle conditions. They carried out reconnaissance, fire cover of ground units from the air, landing of amphibious assaults and cargo transportation. Among the transport helicopters, the CH-54 heavy crane helicopters have proven themselves excellently. Their crews performed the tasks of transporting various cargoes and weapons – from bulldozers to combat boats, and they also participated in the evacuation of damaged helicopters and airplanes. It was a difficult service, and at times it was performed under fire from the ground. The war in Vietnam became a serious test for US helicopters, as a result of which they gained enormous combat experience.
